This installation is an example of AMG’s development and use of advanced metallurgical technologies to reduce CO₂ and conserve natural resources.  AMG Vanadium is the world’s largest recycler of spent refinery catalysts used to produce ferrovanadium and ferronickel-molybdenum for the carbon steel and stainless steel industries.  This unique process ensures safe environmental treatment of hazardous waste streams from oil production.  AMG Vanadium offers an environmentally responsible "full-circle" solution that promotes the intelligent use and conservation of natural resources. 

This solar facility, the largest of its kind in Southeastern Ohio, is a key component of AMG Vanadium’s environmental stewardship and its commitment to the local community by providing clean, alternative energy to the electrical grid.  This solar power system is estimated to eliminate over 200 tons of CO₂ per annum compared to traditional fossil fuels.  This combination of AMG Vanadium’s technologically advanced industrial recycling process and use of clean, renewable energy proves that metallurgical production and environmental responsibility can work together. 

 AMG also operates a 4.2MW capacity clean energy hydro power facility in Brazil.  AMG is committed to renewable sources of energy such solar, hydro and wind both through its metallurgical technologies used in those industries and use of clean energy in its production activities.

The Engineering Systems Division designs, engineers and produces advanced vacuum furnace systems and operates vacuum heat treatment facilities, primarily for the Aerospace and Energy (including solar and nuclear) industries.  Furnace systems produced by AMG include vacuum remelting, solar silicon melting and crystallization, vacuum induction melting, vacuum heat treatment and high pressure gas quenching, turbine blade coating and sintering.  AMG also provides vacuum case-hardening heat treatment services on a tolling basis.

Graphit Kropfmühl AG is a majority controlled, publicly listed subsidiary of AMG.  Based on its secure raw material sources in Africa, China and Europe, Graphit Kropfmühl is a specialist in the production of silicon metal and the extraction, processing and refining of natural crystalline graphite for a wide range of energy saving industrial applications. 

Timminco Limited is a publicly listed affiliate of AMG. Timminco produces silicon metal for the chemical, aluminum, electronic and solar industries.  Timminco also produces solar grade silicon, using its proprietary technology for purifying silicon metal, for the solar energy industry.
